Delinquent Tax and Tax Lien Sales are HELD THE FIRST TUESDAY
OF EACH MONTH AT THE STARK COUNTY OFFICE BUILDING, 3RD FLOOR STARTING AT 9:00
am
The Stark County Office Building is located downtown Canton on the
South-East corner of Market and Tuscarawas
A deposit of 10% of the Winning bid, but not less than $500.00 is due the
Treasurer of Stark County, no later than Noon on the Day of Sale. The
remaining balance is due in 30 Calendar days from the date the final entry
confirming the sale is received by the Clerk of Courts. The date received
shall count as day number one. The Sheriff of Stark County has no legal or
statutory authority to grant any extension of payment what so ever. ALL
SALES ARE AS IS AND PROPERTIES ARE NOT OPEN FOR INSPECTION PRIOR TO SALE, UNLESS
NOTED IN THE AD.
Method of Bidding: All bidding is done in person on the day of the sale, there
are NO PHONE BIDS, NO MAIL IN BIDS, AND NO ONLINE BIDS. All bidding will
be in minimum increments of $100.00.
Method of Payment: The treasurer will demand cashier's check or certified check,
made payable to "The Treasurer of Stark County." The treasurer will no longer
accept cash or personal checks due to the fiscal liability on the part of the
treasurer and his deputies for payment of tax sale properties.
Tax foreclosures are not appraised and the attorney representing the Treasurer
of Stark County sets the minimum bid Tax foreclosures are advertised for
three (3) consecutive weeks in the Canton Repository before sale date
